An OSBL founded in 2004, Les Escales Improbables de Montréal’s main goal is to support, develop and keep a mutidisciplinary, creative and social conception of Art’s place in the city and citizens’ life. This aim gets its achievement in three activities :
The Festival Les Escales Improbables de Montréal : an annual festival, taking place in September on the Quays of the Old-Port of Montreal and also, this year, three nights in three venues in the heart of Montreal.
Les Escales Improbables de Montréal festival offers present-day arts, drawing on creation, contemporary art, strolling outside the conventional structures and repetition of artist’s representations.
Les Escales Improbables share, with the participating creators, a will to play with the artistic contexts and grounds, still trying to create new links with the audience. Its main role is to be a privileged place for meetings – between artists, venues and audience. An event where the viewer is invited take part, not only limited to a consuming behavior, getting in touch with the audience on its social and human side.
Les Escales Sans Frontières a booking program, encouraging and developping the presence of artists who have already worked with us in our festival on the international stage.
Les Arts Pour Tous : a section focused on consciousness raising, and public development.
