Sacha Ratcliffe is a Montreal-based filmmaker, sound and graphic artist. Sacha is a sound designer, rather than a composer in the classical sense of the term. What she creates, what she does, is not a musical composition, but a universe that has life in itself. Sound art is an expression that aims to provide an out-of- the-ordinary experience to the listener. As Pierre Schaeffer said so well, music is more than just music. It is not a utilitarian or aesthetic object, but a spiritual undertaking, a “beingful exercise”, a performance of the whole being entirely.
