Huu Bac Quach masters many instruments such as the dan bau (Vietnamese single chord), the erhu (Chinese hurdy gurdy), the quena (Peruvian flute) and the guitare.

Pupil of Pham Duc Thanh, dan bau master, Huu Bac also studied jazz guitare at McGill University and erhu at Shanghai College of Music. He also worked on shows like Totem by the Cirque du Soleil and Canotgraphie by Robert Lepage.

In 2014, he released is first album, On the Steps on St-Paul’s, whose songs he composed, sang and conducted. His compositions combine artfuly his Vietnamese and Chinese cultural heritage and North American jazz music.

He will be accompanied by his trio, Jean-Félix Mailloux at the double bass and Guillaume Martineau at the piano.
