At the beginning, there is the love of Émilie Laforest for Kim Doré’s collection of poems, Le rayonnement des corps noirs (Poètes de brousse, Émile-Nelligan award 2004).

The singer, usually found in contemporary music circles, loves this incandescent, uncompromising poetry which lights up suns on the verge of desasters. She loves it enough to compose, with her accomplice Joseph Marchand, music based on two texts of the author. This exercice will engage a fruitfull and uncommon creative process whose results are presented to us today under the name of Forêt.
