Fanfare Pourpour

There was first l’Enfant Fort in 1974, a street band that paraded on Saturday afternoon in Montreal, then Pouet Pouet Band in 1978, which combined band, song and theater. Founded in 1995, Fanfare Pourpour initially met some few of them, joined by young musicians from all musical backgrounds, as well as some big names in the avant-garde jazz scene of Montreal.

Today, there are twenty musicians of Montreal current scene to play music that is both entertaining and intelligent music of the world – ours – bold and creative, as evidenced by their four albums and hundreds of shows given in Quebec and abroad.

The diversity of their instrumentation, their exuberant spontaneity and carefully orchestrated and performed with infectious enthusiasm compositions, create a band that continues to improve, going forward, to rejuvenate. A true band of youth. Viva Pourpour!
